About the Anti-Racism Daily

One newsletter, one action, every day — written for anyone who wanted to do something and didn’t know where to start.

How it started

In June 2020, in the middle of a global uprising against anti-Black racism, Nicole Cardoza started sending a daily email.

Each issue took one thing happening in the world and did three things with it: explained the history underneath it, named why it mattered, and gave readers a concrete action they could take that day. No jargon. No shame. No assumption that the reader already knew.

It worked because it was small and it was daily. Anti-racism stopped being an abstraction you either were or weren’t, and became a practice — something you did on a Tuesday, then did again on a Wednesday.

What it became

Hundreds of thousands of people subscribed. Readers organized book clubs, changed hiring practices, rewrote curricula, and showed up to city council meetings because of something they read in an issue. Together they raised more than $2.5M for causes and organizations doing the work on the ground.

The newsletter was covered by Teen Vogue, the Columbia Journalism Review, The Today Show, Bustle, Elle, and CNN — but the part that mattered most was always what happened after someone finished reading.

Where it lives now

The Anti-Racism Daily now publishes as Reimagined — news and ideas for the people building what comes next. The mission didn’t change; the name grew to fit everything the community had become.

This site is the Anti-Racism Daily’s own home: the archive, the impact work, and a place to subscribe or support what comes next.

Who’s behind it

The Anti-Racism Daily was founded by Nicole Cardoza and is published by Reclamation Ventures. Over the years it has been written by a wide range of BIPOC writers, paid for their insight and their time.
